A Mighty Swell is Growing in Texas this Summer

Are you looking to kick your summer up a notch while cooling down in style? In Texas summers get H-O-T! I am always looking for ways beat the summer heat. I am first and foremost a wine lover above all else. However, when it is 110F in Dallas it can be hard to enjoy a beautiful Cabernet Sauvignon, Brunello or Syrah. But I am not a big liquor drinker. I lack the knowledge to make fun cocktails and sometimes the higher alcohol percentage weighs me down. When it’s hot I want a drink that is cool, fun, and doesn’t contain too much alcohol. I am always up for a glass of wine but it’s fun to add a little tropical kick! Finally, help is here!

Mighty Swell Cocktail

Leave it to three adult beverage industry powerhouses from Texas to create a fun and easy way to beat the Texas heat with a fun wine cocktail! Might Swell Cocktails is a ready to drink fruit based wine cocktail crafted of premium, all natural ingredients including real fruit juice and pure cane sugar, then carbonated to create a distinctive cocktail with five percent alcohol by volume. The cocktails do not contain high-fructose corn syrup, artificial flavors, sodium benzoate, or food dyes.

Mighty Swell

Might Swell comes in three fun flavors: Grapefruit, Peach, and Lemon. They are sold in six – 12 oz bottles making them easy to enjoy by the pool, at the park, on the beach, in a boat, at the ballpark, or on the golf course. Seriously? How often can you take a cocktail anywhere you’d like to go? The places you can enjoy Mighty Swell are endless.

Mighty Swell grapefruitGrapefruit was probably my favorite which is unusual because I don’t really like grapefruits. It is just the right amount of tart with the perfect balance of sweet. Delicious!

Mighty Swell peachPeach was my daughter’s favorite (she is 20); it has a very natural peach flavor. It tasted like an unfrozen Bellini. Which gave me the idea. What if you poured these into a margarita machine with ice? YUM!

Mighty Swell lemonLemon was tart, crisp, totally refreshing and easy to drink. Would be great with an addition of thyme or rosemary or some crushed blackberries. Perfect straight out of the can.

Do these sound like wine coolers to you? Perhaps. But these are not your high school wine coolers! As explained in a recent Texas Monthly article, Mighty Swell Cocktails are different from wine coolers and other beer alternatives because “…first, this product starts with actual wine made by a small Floridian producer who makes the wine from orange peels that is fermented and then distilled into a low alcoholic wine. But, more important, Mighty Swell focuses on using all-natural ingredients to make its grapefruit, lemon, and peach flavors.”

“We’ve lived through the wine cooler era, and our challenge will be showing consumers how we’re different than that. Once you taste Mighty Swell drinks, you realize we’re nowhere near that category,” says Christopher. “What we’re making has never been done.”
